Increase in connectivity to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo.
The official presentation of the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Connectivity Committee took place last Monday, September 9, with the clear objective of uniting the efforts of the different sectors, exploring new markets and generating greater land, air and maritime connectivity to continue with the development of the destination.
" This committee does not need to be very broad; it is an executive committee represented by all of us to analyze flight by flight; to see what we have to do, what is the next flight we have to look for. This committee is inviting executives from all the airlines to meet with us and find out what we need to do. It is necessary to analyze the new flights, but we must work to find a way to guarantee them," said Ernesto Rodriguez Escalona, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guerrero on the installation of the Connectivity Committee.
Among the first achievements are two new flights to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo: from Toluca and Victoria, Canada, in addition to the substantial progress on the new cruise ship pier in Zihuatanejo and an upcoming investment of more than 50MDP on the road that connects with Acapulco.
The Committee is expected to monitor new flights, maintain current destinations, progress on roadways and encourage cruise arrivals.
